How much will THE BILLING RESOURCE services cost me?

That’s a valid question, but when we look at the bottom line it’s really about savings to our clients. In fact we expect to reduce your overall expenses AND help you increase revenues resulting in greater profits.

Can I afford to contract an outsourcing service?

The cost associated with outsourcing billing services is far less than myriad of expenses that accumulate with in-house billing staff. You can’t afford not to.

Do I keep control of EOB’s and patient files?

Absolutely! All insurance payments go directly to you. THE BILLING RESOURCE simply gets copies of the EOB’s and sends you a monthly invoice. Patient files remain with you at all times. THE BILLING RESOURCE, through electronic files, fax or mail services will acquire only the pertinent data required by the insurance company for proper claim submission.

What safeguards are in place for security data backup?

We perform full backups daily, followed by incremental backups daily on removable storage. We have a high-powered UPS for emergency purposes, so all data can be saved and stored properly in a timely manner. The removable storage is secured, labeled and dated.

Where can patients call with billing questions?

Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will take all your patient calls via our toll-free number. We are dedicated to serving your patients promptly, ensuring their complete satisfaction. Our phone numbers are easily accessible on our patient statements.

How quickly can I get started with THE BILLING RESOURCE?

Today, if you’re ready to make a positive change in your billing process. Simply complete our client contract and schedule an appointment with either your Account Representative or Customer Care Specialist. Together, we can determine the best programs for your specific practice and then create a specific timeline to get you up to speed quickly with our services. In most cases we will have you fully implemented to our programs within 2 weeks.

What information will we regularly require from your office?

To efficiently and accurately bill for your office, we require copies of superbills, patient registration, insurance cards, patient/insurance payments, EOB's. 

How will we get this information from you?

There are several methods including: Electronic submission, fax, mail, and courier. We do suggest you assign someone from your office to act as a liaison between your office and THE BILLING RESOURCE, whose responsibility it will be to ensure that we receive all relevant information in a timely manner.

How often will THE BILLING RESOURCE process our claims?

Within 48 hours of receipt.

Can all claims be billed electronically?

Most commercial insurance companies accept electronic claims. Because payments are generated much faster from electronically submitted claims, we will submit claims electronically whenever possible.

How are insurance payments received and applied?

All payments will be sent by the insurance carrier to your office. You will simply provide us with a copy of the EOB or check so that we can accurately post any payments and make any necessary adjustments to a patient's account. If the patient has secondary coverage, this coverage will be billed upon receipt of the EOB from your office.

How are patient payments processed?

Simply provide us with a copy of the check, money order, cash receipt, or credit card receipt for any outstanding balance, and we will apply the payment to the appropriate patients account. We can also provide you with a payment log for easy summarization of all payments received at the front desk.

How does THE BILLING RESOURCE handle denials?

Upon receipt of the EOB from your office, we will promptly investigate any denied or rejected claim to determine the reason for denial or rejection. If the reason for denial is unsatisfactory, we will write a letter of appeal and pursue the insurance carrier until payment is received.

How does THE BILLING RESOURCE handle account balances?

After all insurance payments (primary, second, or tertiary) and adjustments are applied to the patients account, we bill the patient for any outstanding balance.

How does THE BILLING RESOURCE handle non-payment?

We will work with you to set up a system that handles your patients in a manner consistent with your policies. While THE BILLING RESOURCE is not a collection agency, we can send friendly reminders to patients with outstanding balances. With your permission, we can set up payment plans as well.

What reports does THE BILLING RESOURCE provide?

THE BILLING RESOURCE can provide a variety of monthly, weekly, even daily reports regarding your practice including, but not limited to; A/R, practice analysis, activity reports, and aging reports. Custom reports can also be designed upon request.

Do I need new hardware or software to do business with THE BILLING RESOURCE?

Not likely, the hardware required is a copier and a fax machine. If you want access to our program, you will need a computer

Does THE BILLING RESOURCE code superbills?

No. All coding should be done by a certified coder or by the provider. Any uncoded superbills will be returned to the provider for completion.
